Every boat's maintenance history,
in one place.
ReadyHelm keeps service records, reminders, checklists, expenses, and a real-time readiness score for your boat — shared with the people who need it, whenever they need it.
A boat's history lives in a folder, a shoebox, and someone's memory.
Every part of the marine ecosystem loses when maintenance records don't travel with the vessel.
Boat owners
Receipts in a drawer, intervals in your head. At sale, you can't prove the care you put in — so you get paid for the boat, not the maintenance.
Boatyards
Your best work disappears into a paper invoice. No digital trail, no customer connection, and every reminder call feels like a sales call.
Brokers & surveyors
Reconstructing service history from scraps costs weeks. Deals stall and prices drop because nobody can verify what was actually done.
Marine insurers
Underwriting on self-reported claims and a survey snapshot. Well-maintained boats subsidize neglected ones, because there's no way to tell them apart.
However you keep your boat, it fits.
Hand the work to a yard or do it yourself, keep it on a mooring or a trailer, own the boat or crew on it. ReadyHelm keeps the part that matters to you.
Every invoice, every service, one record you can hand to the next owner.
Photograph an invoice or upload a survey and First Mate files it for you. Work your yard logs arrives verified. When it's time to sell, the history report shows what was done and who did it.
Know what's due before it breaks, and prove you did the work.
Reminders by date or engine hours, a service log with parts and photos, and equipment you can track down to the impeller. Ask the mechanic who helped to verify an entry, and your DIY record carries weight at resale.
On Friday at four, know your boat is ready.
One readiness score, a before-trip checklist, the NOAA forecast for where you're going, and a float plan to whoever stays ashore, with a one-tap "we're back safely."
Your mooring, your tender, and your boat, with nothing coming due that you didn't know about.
Tackle and components, inspection dates, permits, slip leases and payments, all on the berth itself, so the history stays with it when boats come and go. Add the tender as its own boat with its own reminders.
See exactly what your marina did and what it cost.
Verified service entries next to every expense: fuel, dockage, storage and parts. Snap a receipt and it fills itself in. Export it all to a spreadsheet or PDF.
Every hour on the water, counted. Say yes to a trip in ten seconds.
Trip invites with the time, place and your role. Your hours and sea days toward a USCG license, with your certifications and their expiry dates in one wallet you can share.
Everything about your boat, finally organized
Maintenance Reminders
Set tasks by date or engine hours. When one comes due it lands on your to-do list and in a daily email, and logging the work rolls it forward.
Service Log
Every oil change, haul-out and repair, self-logged or confirmed by the yard, mechanic or mooring service that did it.
Readiness Score
One number that tells you, and anyone you share it with, exactly how ready your boat is to go.
Checklists
Before Trip, After Trip, the USCG safety checklist, ready-made templates, and custom checklists that repeat on your schedule.
Equipment & Replacement Tracking
Know what's aboard, its condition over time, and when safety gear and equipment are due for replacement.
Expenses
Fuel, dockage, storage and parts alongside your service costs, with charts and CSV or PDF export. Snap a receipt and it fills itself in.
Moorings & Slips
Tackle, components, inspections and permits for a mooring; leases, payments, utilities and gate codes for a slip. Days-at-berth reports for your harbor master or marina.
Captain's Log & Crew
Log every trip with sea days, hours and nautical miles per person. Invite crew to a trip, and track your progress toward a USCG license.
Float Plans & Forecasts
Send a trip's details to whoever stays ashore, with NOAA wind, wave and tide forecasts recorded as the trip gets closer.
Verified History Report
Thinking of selling? A report for a buyer, broker or surveyor that separates work verified by a pro from work you logged yourself.
Messages & Sharing
Share a boat with family, crew or a co-owner as a viewer or editor, and keep the conversation with them, and with your yard, attached to the boat.
Credential Wallet & Emergency Info
Your certifications, licenses and emergency contacts travel with you, not the boat, and you choose who sees them.

For marine businesses
Your organization picks one plan and buys a seat for each person who does pro work. Every new organization gets a 14-day trial of Pro Standard.
Annual billing is 2 months free. Admins never need a seat to manage the team, plan or profile.
Your boat's paperwork, organized in minutes — not a weekend.
Upload a survey, registration, insurance policy, receipt or yard invoice, and First Mate reads it and proposes the details for you to approve. Ask it what's due this month, have it log a service or set a reminder, or let it fill in your boat's missing specs. Nothing changes until you say so.
Every record makes the next one more valuable.
ReadyHelm connects the whole ecosystem around one permanent identifier — the hull number.
Owner logs a service
Free app. Maintenance reminders, checklists, engine hours, receipts.
A pro confirms it
The owner asks for verification and the yard confirms it happened. Or the yard logs the work itself, verified from the start.
Shared with whoever needs it
Broker, surveyor, buyer, the next owner. The record travels with the hull, not the owner.

Frequently asked questions
What is ReadyHelm?
ReadyHelm is a boat maintenance app. It keeps a boat's service history, maintenance reminders, checklists, equipment, expenses and documents in one place, tied to the boat's hull identification number (HIN) so the record stays with the boat when it changes hands.
Is ReadyHelm free?
Yes. The Free plan covers one boat with 250 MB of storage, including maintenance reminders, the service log, checklists, expenses, mooring and slip records, Captain's Log and Float Plans. Skipper ($4.99 a month or $49.90 a year) adds up to three boats, crew sharing, messages and custom checklists. Captain ($9.99 a month or $99.90 a year) adds unlimited boats and 10 GB.
How do maintenance reminders work?
Set a task to repeat every so many days or engine hours, such as an oil change every 100 hours or 12 months. When it comes due, it lands on your to-do list and in your daily reminder email. Logging the work rolls the schedule forward to the next due date.
What does a verified service history mean?
An entry is verified when the boatyard, mechanic or mooring service that did the work logged it in ReadyHelm, or confirmed an entry you logged yourself. The verified history report separates verified work from owner-logged work, because buyers, brokers and surveyors weigh the two differently.
Do I need my boat's HIN to get started?
No. Add the boat with its basic details and enter the hull identification number later. Everything you log in the meantime moves to the boat's record when you add the HIN.
Can I keep records for a mooring or a slip?
Yes, on every plan. A mooring record holds its tackle, components, inspection dates and permit. A slip record holds the marina, utilities, gate and dock box codes, and lease terms with payment reminders. Either can produce a days-at-berth report for your harbor master or marina.
Does ReadyHelm track sea time for a USCG license?
Captain's Log records hours underway and sea days for each person aboard, where a sea day is a trip with at least four hours underway, and shows your progress toward an OUPV or Master license. It's a running count to help you prepare, not a filing with the Coast Guard.
Who can see my boat's records?
Your records are private unless you share them. You can share a boat with crew, family or a co-owner as a viewer or editor, and give your boatyard access to log work. Your boat's name can appear in crew search so crew can ask to join, and you can hide it.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. ReadyHelm runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and you can install it to your home screen like an app. You need a connection to load and save your records.
What does the First Mate assistant do?
First Mate reads documents you upload, such as a survey, registration, insurance policy, receipt or yard invoice, and proposes the details for you to approve. It also answers questions about your boats, logs services and sets reminders when you ask. Nothing is saved until you approve it.
I run a boatyard, mooring service or brokerage. How does ReadyHelm work for me?
The ReadyHelm Pro Portal lets your team log verified work on customers' boats, run work orders, inspect moorings and issue PDF reports, and answer owners' verification requests. Pro Free covers one person. Pro Standard is $15 per seat a month for up to 10 seats, and Pro Plus is $25 per seat a month with unlimited seats. New organizations get a 14-day trial of Pro Standard.
Built with your feedback
ReadyHelm is still evolving, and your feedback shapes what we build next. Every account starts free, and AI-assisted suggestions are always a starting point, not a substitute for a qualified technician or marine surveyor.
